The Day That I Never Want To End…

Been so busy as of late. Was able to finally get my new armor, making me officially part of the the AstroLab Defense Team. The five of us who pass the tough grooling training, are now all part of a team.

My first post is to patrol the outside of the AstroLab and get to know some of the new recruits and some of the other staff. It is not bad, and quiet enjoyable. The Astrologians are sometimes picky and they seem to want to let you know they know quiet a lot…. and you don’t.

But it is obvious they confused me with someone that would be pushed around.I lectured them, but some of them didn’t really care. Mainly the young adults.

At the end it was a decent duty day, but oh so exhausting. I finally was able get home and was welcomed by my wife and friends. Unfortunately, one of my good friends became ill. She had to go lay down.

Cute Kitties!

I hung out with Mina, and we had a good, you know girl talk and the sorts. We cut down a lot of trees, hehe but it was fun, unfortunately, she has to head out as well.

We enjoyed each other company until we both went back home and exhaustion hit us.

She Is My Soulmate

It was a day that I never wanted to end… but unfortunately it has… but it ended in being my the most favorite place ever…

In the arms of my wife.

Lectures, Deserts, and the Night Sky Pt. 1

On Tuesday I was told my training would take a turn. The five of us that passed orientation or Hell Week, were informed to pack our things and get ready to head on out at a moments notice.

As I sat in a small lecture hall, the surprise came and I was sadden by not being able to head home as I was expecting. So naturally I let Anni know and it didn’t go over too well. She was ready to see my on Thursday but that was no longer the case.

We immediately set out and began our journey. We started in classrooms and began our lectures.

“In order to understand why you are doing what you are doing, one must understand the basics. The Astrologians are a special breed of people, people who love research and seek out more. Unlike scholars, they are not students of Aether, but rather of what is yet to come. Science is the main language and research is their tool. They use cards to communicate through the Aether, and the universe is their stage. These Astrologians that you will be protecting are important for the future of Eorzea, of Hydaelyn. You are defending those who will help Eorzea grow and become better in so many ways.”

That was an introduction of a lecture by one of the ArchMages from the AstroLab. He was such a well spoken Elezen and very gentle soul. He went on explaining what certain members of this community has done.

“And this leads me to a particular Astrologian. She was once a student and soon became part of our top tier here at the AstroLab. She was educated by one of our grand masters… And has quickly become a key person for this Lab. Annimae Nalani has brought in a great deal of research for us, and her accomplishments and her work speak louder than any words could be expressed. These Astrologians are very important and that is why you have been selected to defend them.”

I am so proud of my wife, hearing her name, listening to the ArchMage go on about her accomplishments. I never knew how much she has put into it. It brings me goosebumps knowing I am able to be part of this group, to be able to defend her and the rest of the Astrologians.

Orientation: Hell Week – Day Two Pt.6

I woke up from the pain that was put on my body. I felt out of breath and beyond exhausted. I was on the ground and was looking up. I was all of the instructors looking at me as they crowded me.

“You made it Nalani.” Was what I heard from SGT Molo. Tears ran down the sides of my face as I felt a huge relief from it all. The instructors brought me up to my feet and explained to me what happened.

It was all just a game, a game of pressure and pain. Who can out last and prove their will to remain is strong. They expected only two to stay, but instead 5… 5 people out of 40 applicants. That is almost 90% drop out rate. It is impressive, but the instructors told me something that I won’t ever forget.

“We did not expect you to get this far, to outlast this long. You have impressed us Nalani, with your courage, your perserverance and your will power. We are proud of you.”

What got me through it all was my wife. I kept thinking about her and her love for me kept me going. My journey does not end here, but rather I get to do some more training, this time with a dedicated team, and less stressful. Monday morning I get move on to the next phase, and I look forward on it.

Orientation: Hell Week – Day Two Pt. 5

Psyiah woke up from her nap in a violent way. Water got splashed on her face. She shook her head and coughed. Her eyes try to focus but there is a bright light shining on her face. She finally is able to focus and tries to look around the room. She feels dizzy and soon realizes she is upside down, hanging by a chain. Her feet bound along with her hands behind her, bound tightly. She tries to get loose but her body seems tired and exhausted.

“Where is the commander?” Asked a raspy voice. She is unable to see as the light blinds her. “Who?” She asks and is instantly kicked in her stomach. “WHERE IS THE COMMANDER?!” The voice yells. Psyiah coughs and gags. Her hair gets pulled up to the side and a red set of eyes lock on hers. “Stop playing games girl, where is your leader?” Suddenly she realizes this could not be part of the training, this could be real? She notices Garlean symbols on their clothing, and the third eye. Her eyes widen, ‘Maybe this is not training!’ She thinks. She panics and tries to struggle. Another heavy hit at her stomach. She gasps and coughs. The figure with red eyes lets go of her hair. “We knew you are training to become of the elite.” His voice trails as he walks around her. “No need on playing dumb. Your trainer already told us a lot. He squealed like a little piggy.” There is laughter in the room. At least 4 or 5 men. Foot steps keep going around her as he walks around her.

She feels hands legs and she feels herself being lifted higher. She struggles again, this time a hit to the face. “Quit moving!” A voice snaps. She feels disoriented and can feel blood building in her mouth. ‘this… This can’t be!’ She thinks. The man bends down and looks at her once more. “You see all these bodies? They where you friends. But they didn’t say anything. Now it is your turn. Tell us and we will let you live. Don’t and suffer their fate.” His tone cold as motions at the dead bodies on the ground. Blood surrounding them. Panic sets in. “Hahaha, she gets it now boys… Yeah we are serious. Now… I ask you again. Where the FUCK is your commander?” Psyiah panics, “I don’t know!” Another hit to the gut. She coughs and blood trails out. “Your program is failed… Don’t you get it? We killed that bitch on that excursion and now we will finish what we started.” One of the men grab some wires. The tap them together and sparks fly. Psyiah is still unsure if this is real. “Fuck you!” She spits out. “I was hoping you said that.” The man moves without hesitation and shocks Psyiah. She yells and bites down. Her body tense and she feels a zap all over her body. Her jaw locks as she is electrocuted. The man pulls away. “I can go all night long. Now…. Tell me! Where is she?!” Psyiah now dazed and shakes her head. “Fuck…. You…” She groans out. The men chuckle. She shock her again. Psyiah is now believing this is real and her chances of survival are looking slim. She begins to cry thinking of her wife. Thinking this is how it will end. By the death of Garleans. “Crying? Here let us help you wash your face.” The grab her hair, she winces in pain and her face is submurged under water. She tries to hold her breath. She feels another punch to her gut. She gasps in the water and takes in the water. She begins to feel herself lose as she chokes from the water in her lungs. They pull the bucket and punch her once more. She pukes the water in her lungs, and gasps for air. Before she could say anything they shock her once more. Her body tenses and she blacks out.

Orientation: Hell Week – Day Two Pt. 3

Psyiah woke up in the shore. “Psyiah don’t you die on me!! DON’T YOU DIE ON ME!!” SGT Molo was jumping on her stomach. Psyiah coughed up water as she spit it up. She gasped for air. The team let out a sigh and felt relief. Psyiah looked around fully wet and having a nasty taste of salt water in her. She coughed and spit up more water. “Psyiah… You drowned… You are lucky I feel generous right now. If not I would have left you drowning.” SGT Molo said standing up in his small stature. “You can quit… I won’t hold it against you.” Psyiah spit once more, wiped her mouth and stood up. “No, Sir!” SGT Molo showed a small grin. “I was hoping you’d say that… OKAY LADIES LETS GO!! BACK TO THE WATER!! GET YOUR ASSES BACK IN THERE!”

The teammates looked at Psyiah, “You sure this is safe?” One of them asked softly. Psyiah nodded and grinned. “They can beat me, but they can’t kill me.” The team felt the motivation from Psyiah and charged into the water and swam out as SGT Molo stood there with a shit-eating-grin on him.

“She is defiant. If she keeps this, she will do great.” SGT Molo nodded. “Tonight we will see how much she wants to be here. We start the torture. Early.” The instructors nod seeing the team tread water.
